Air Shots are Not Counted
For the first shot of each hole, hit the ball on the tee (tee up).

Because the tee up position of the ball is high, it is easy to hit the ball with the club's sweet spot. It also avoides damaging the green. Players must always tee up and hit the ball.

There are three ways of gripping a club. First of all, grip the club with about eight tenths of the power which is comfortable on your hands.

Let's hit the first shot then. At first, set your feet in position (stance), swing up the club (backswing) from the hitting stance (addressing), and swing the clubhead back down to hit the ball. You made an air shot! Don't worry, it happens in the beginning.

If a swing misses and the ball does not move, it is not considered a stroke. Relax, look at the ball well and hit it. You can hear the nice sound from the sweet spot.

When the ball is in play, if a player addressing the ball touches it with their club and causes it to move, the first shot is not considered a stroke. However, it is counted as a stroke after the second shot. Also, if a swing misses but the ball moved (by wind pressure etc.) it is counted as a stroke.
